Can India make it atleast this time?

Good news for Cricket fans. The Champions Tropy 2006 will begin on October 6th. It has been scheduled in four Indian Cities. ICC has changed the format this time. Ten teams are placed in the battlefield to lift the trophy worth 20,000$ and weighing 17.6 pounds. India has been lucky enough to play directly in the main stage along with six other teams(as per the official ratings). While Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies and Zimababwe will have to in preliminary stages.

Once Again India has been placed in a tougher group. As they r placed along Australia, England. Luck doesn't seems to favour India throughout the history of the tournament. After beating a strong inform Austrlian team in the first stage, failed to win in the 1998 edition. Yet another disappointment in 2000 edition. After beating the home team Kenya in the prelims and South Africa in the semi finals , failed to win against New Zealand in the finals. Performance in 2002 is better than previous edition. Thanks to sehwag's performance. After Beating Zimabawe, England and South Africa in the initial stages, bowled out Srilanka for a meagre 244 and 222 on two consecutive days. Unlickily India couldn't able to bat on any of these days due to rain. A poor dispaly by Indians in 2004.knocked out in the first stage. /while hosting the series for the first time, Can they do this time around?

Lets wait and see..

Th bad news for Chennai fans is that chennaites cannot hav a close look at this prestigious trophy. The trophy is to be displayed at 7 Indian cities. So taht the fans can have a close look at it. Chennai missed it this time.
